It’s that feeling of loneliness & that no one is there to talk to. Even when you have many friends & many confidants you still feel alone. Why?
Depression is much deeper than Prozac commercials will have you think. When you feel like this your body isn’t asking for drugs it’s missing something. That void many of us feel is sometimes caused by deficiencies in our bodies.
Depression comes in varieties:
- Major Depression
- Premenstrual Dysphoric
Now what are the underlying causes?
Some people can’t overcome depression it’s to the point of being debilitating & dangerous but for those that aren’t biologically inflicted with depression there are steps you can take.
Homeopathic recommendations are:
- Aurum Metallicum
- Rescue Rememdy By Bach Flower
Always remember don’t go off your medication without being supervised this can be dangerous! I would suggest working with a naturopathic doctor to walk you through it. Sometimes depression is caused by not eating the right foods this is where a holistic nutritionist would come in. Another cause of depression can be chronic pain you didn’t even realize you had because you were conditioned so long this I highly suggest chiropractic treatment.
For those with what I call ‘spiritual depression’ and have feelings of being lost & hopeless I suggest to you seeing a Master Reiki Healer. Even try a massage therapist for relaxation & sore muscles.
Most importantly get exercise in. Working out how you prefer from jogging to yoga. Finding something to get you active is crucial! Have an open journal where you can share with family & friends. Be open about how you feel you are not alone. There are support groups for every ailment and problem now.
In the book The Canadian Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine they suggest these supplements:
